‘True Detective’ season 2, episode 5 spoilers: The ruins of the bloodbath

HBO logoSunday night, we have another new episode of “True Detective” airing on HBO. To go along with that, we also have what is now the official description of “Other Lives” from HBO: “Ray (Colin Farrell) and Frank (Vince Vaughn) contemplate new life choices; Ani (Rachel McAdams) and Paul (Taylor Kitsch) follow a lead up the coast.”

At the moment, we have no idea why in the world the network is being so secretive as to keep these from public eye until days before the next new episode. They release “Game of Thrones” descriptions weeks in advance, and they have more potential spoilers in them than this does just about any day of the week.

What we can at least say at the moment about “Other Lives” is that it promises to have potentially Ray and Frank questioning possibly both their relationship and they way they go about living. They are starting to realize just how far the net of this case may go, and the impact it is having on the world surrounding them.

As for Ani and Paul, it’s hard to really read much of anything from their portion of this. We are at least starting to figure out that maybe Paul is not as detached as he is letting on, and knowing that in itself is at least a little bit of good news sense it could allow us to see more of his humanity in the weeks ahead.

We’ll have more news on this “True Detective” episode soon, including a review on Sunday. Stay tuned.
