‘Sleepy Hollow’ season 3 spoilers: Betsy Ross to enter the fray

Betsy Ross is a woman who has long been a part of American folklore, and with that, doesn’t it seem appropriate that she also enter the mythos of “Sleepy Hollow” completely?

If you remember back to the earlier days of the Fox series, then you know already that Ichabod Crane has a personal history already with the woman, known for supposedly stitching together the American flag. Now, you are going to meet her on the show! Per TVLine, the series is casting someone to play this part in at least one episode of the third season, and she is probably not going to be what you would expect based on the casting notice that has been unveiled:

“Think more Angelina Jolie than frumpy Martha Stewart — a kickass Mrs. Smith to Ichabod Crane’s Mr. Smith … [She] is ruthless, smart and fearless, adjusting to blend in to whatever the situation demands, from demure handmaiden to honeypot to cutthroat spy.”

This sounds at least like the sort of fun role that an actress would want to take on. It’s not your typical love interest or cheesy exposition character role, and it’s also someone well-known enough that it will be a good thing to put on the resume.

Granted, “Sleepy Hollow” is coming off of what was widely considered to be a disappointing second season, but we feel like that is motivating the majority of the people involved to do an even better job this time around. The new season premieres on October 1, so we’ll have a chance to see what lies ahead soon enough.
