Will ‘Arrow’ season 4, ‘The Flash’ season 2, ‘Supernatural’ season 11 have 23 episodes?

Arrow -When you look across the majority of the television landscape, you will realize that the whole notion of a 23-episode season is pretty rare. For one reason or another, networks tend to like to work in even numbers once you get past around 15-episode seasons. We see many run for 18, a ton run for 22, and then some select shows get a whopping 23.

However, The CW does something a little bit different with their own series: As confirmed now by SpoilerTV, “Arrow,” “The Flash,” and “Supernatural” are all going to be getting only 23 episodes on their upcoming seasons. This is something that they’ve all done now for years, or at least as long as the two superhero shows have been on the air. The idea here is to clearly fill up as many weeks as possible between October (when the series tend to premiere) and early May.

This is great for fans of the show, and at the same time we have to give a ton of respect to the actors, producers, and writers for what is an enormous commitment. In some ways, it’s practically like the superhero shows in particular are doing 24-25 episodes when you consider all of the crossovers that happened over the past year, and what could come in DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” when that airs early next year.

The majority of the other CW shows for next year, at least those announced, are getting 22 with some exceptions. New series “May Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” will at least start with only 13, and the same goes for ‘iZombie.” Their episode counts could increase depending on ratings. You can read more about “Legends” and its count over here.
