Could ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ alum Patrick Dempsey join another TV series this fall?

Is Patrick Dempsey looking for another day job to balance out his racing career? When we first heard the news that he was departing “Grey’s Anatomy,” we assumed for the most part that this was going to be a way for him to focus more full-time on some of his other passions. However, it is starting to feel a little more like he may be looking for another venue as early as the fall.

According to an Entertainment Weekly report, the actor is reportedly taking some meetings to discuss opportunities on various shows, with some of them starting as early as the fall. This is a chance for him to look at something new, and spread his horizon to a certain extent. Here is what an unnamed high-level executive had to say about an upcoming potential meeting with the actor:

“It’s very normal for an actor who has been on a show for a long time to take meetings, to get reacquainted with other studios and network execs … It’s just what you do. You never know when that dream project is gonna fall in your lap.”

The same report also says, though, that there may be some trouble when it comes to Dempsey getting a new TV job right away. There’s the issue that most pilots already have the majority of their casts set in stone, while others question whether or not some rumors that came out over his final months on “Grey’s Anatomy” could cause him some trouble being hired. Dempsey’s representatives have denied that there was any major friction behind the scenes on the series between Patrick and show creator Shonda Rhimes.
