’19 Kids and Counting’: Josh Duggar cancels big appearance in wake of scandal

19 Kids and Counting -While TLC mulls over the fate of “19 Kids and Counting,” the show star at the center of a massive media blitz has decided to stay firmly out of the spotlight.

According to a report from TMZ, Josh Duggar has canceled an appearance that was scheduled for him at a home schooling convention in Ohio this coming week, mostly for the reason that his presence at the event would likely end up being a distraction. Ultimately, he is probably right about that, as there would be a sizable media presence there to monitor almost every word that he says. Duggar has already apologized in a statement after it was revealed that there was an investigation 12 years ago into claims that he molested many minors, including multiple family members. This investigation surfaced this week courtesy of an In Touch Weekly magazine, and it has since become national news.

As reported earlier today, the aforementioned cable network is still in the middle of a heated debate when it comes to what it wants to do with Duggar. One of the biggest options involves potentially removing him from the cast, which would then allow the audience to see stories involving some of his other family members. Another option still is to cancel the show outright. For now, all new episodes have been pulled.

We imagine that there will not be a firm decision until Tuesday at the earliest, given that the Memorial Day Weekend is going to keep most network executives away from the office for at least a couple of days.
