’19 Kids and Counting’ may not be canceled; TLC considers removing Josh Duggar

19 Kids and Counting -Is it possible that there could be a future for “19 Kids and Counting” on the air that does not include having Josh Duggar on the air? Since no firm decision has been made at the moment in regards to the future of the series, this is at least something that is being considered.

According to TMZ, the TLC show moving forward without Josh is one of the most viable options being considered at the moment, and it would not be that difficult to remove him given that he has been working more in Washington DC as of late than his family’s hometown in Arkansas. Also, the network’s draw at the moment is more on some of the Duggars’ daughters including Jill and Jessa, who have each been married recently in specials that drew big ratings. Keeping the rest of the family on the air would allow the show to continue to generate big ratings, and it may be a move that would not severely enrage some of the show’s devoted fans, many of whom are still behind the family even after Josh admitted to claims that he molested many minors while still a teenager.

However, we do still see some potential problems with such a move. For one, him being off the show does not wash away that this story is out there, and if this is meant to truly be a “reality show,” isn’t this something that would need to be discussed in some way?

Another obvious concern is whether or not the rest of the Duggars would feel slighted about Josh’s omission, similar to how the “Duck Dynasty” cast reacted to Phil Robertson being temporarily suspended for a series of comments in a GQ interview. Obviously, circumstances here are very different and we’re not trying to compare what Robertson did to the accusations against Josh Duggar; we are merely trying to say that it is not out of the realm of possibility that some other Duggar family members would protest the idea of continuing to do the show with someone being banned from it.
