NBC’s ‘The Voice’ rankings: Where Sawyer Fredericks, Meghan Linsey, Joshua Davis stand entering finale

Sawyer -The finale of “The Voice” begins on Monday night, and we feel pretty good about the remaining four singers. All of them are fairly unique, and there is a 50-50 chance at the moment (at least in terms of raw numbers) that Pharrell Williams will win the competition for the first time. It may even be higher than that when you consider our latest contestant rankings. All four of these contestants are very strong and should be happy to make it this far just based on their talent and their body of work alone … but of course only one of them can win.

At this point cumulative iTunes sales matter a little more, so that is our #1 factor in this rankings, with social traffic #2 and voting history and overall performance quality coming in somewhere after that. This is a popularity contest first and foremost.

4. Koryn Hawthorne – Koryn is quality. She may actually be the best pure singer of the final four, and Pharrell has done a great job helping her evolve. It’s too bad that she has had the lowest iTunes sales of anyone remaining. Maybe getting rid of some of the other similar talent will help her in the finale, but we cannot rank based on what-if scenarios.

3. Joshua Davis – We didn’t think he would make it here two weeks ago, but he has chosen good songs and really connected to the heartland of America, a very important demographic. He probably only has a tiny shot of winning, but he has at least recovered and had some good placement on the charts.

2. Meghan Linsey – The only real chance at an underdog winner, and it is still strange to call her an underdog at all given that she has consistently been pointed out as the most-popular person going into the season. She has delivered some solid hits on iTunes, but the Blake Shelton voting block is the real x-factor. Remember here that they helped Craig Wayne Boyd pull off a surprise win last year.

1. Sawyer Fredericks – We would say, though, that Sawyer is even more of a runaway favorite than Matt McAndrew was last year. Young people love him, and he also sings songs that connect with older fans of the show. He’s got the total package, and the consistent sales to back him up. If he loses, it will be one of the biggest surprises in the history of the show.
