‘Shark Tank’ video: NeatCheeks state their case, explains their product

Shark Tank -On Friday night’s “Shark Tank,” a pair of moms from Colorado are going to enter with the hopes of moving their brand of wipes to the next level. Will they clean up with investors in the same way that these wipes clean up messes? That’s what we are discussing in this preview, anchored by the sneak peek of their pitch at the bottom of the article.

Let’s start here by explaining what NeatCheeks actually do: They make the cleanup process a little easier for messy kids, as the wipes are actually flavored and take care of the skin, while not leaving behind any irritation or any residue. They have an effective little clip in here of a baby reacting differently to a normal wet wipe compared to a NeatCheeks product. We do totally buy into the idea of one these wipes being more appealing to a kid than one of the standard wipes you buy at the store. They often smell weird, and some of them leave behind a burning feeling.

Now come the problems for the business: Shelf space. Right now, they are available in select Walgreens in Colorado, but do not have a ton of national expansion yet. Wet wipes are the sort of thing that, unless you are an extreme planner, you probably do not order online and wait for. We feel like if these were in stores at a comparable price, they would be much preferred by parents over an alternative! The difficulty here will be educating these parents, and then taking on the risk and getting the attention of the big buyers. One of the sharks is really going to have to buy into this concept for that to happen.

In the end, we feel like they have a good shot at getting a deal. They’ll probably have to give up more equity than they want, but with the right person on board, this could become a success very quickly.
