‘The X Factor’ UK rumors: Could Simon Cowell take Rita Ora away from ‘The Voice’ UK?
The latest random judging rumor when it comes to “The X Factor” UK is here, and this one suggests that the never-ending competition between this show and “The Voice” UK could be taken up another level. Why? It all comes down to whether or not Simon Cowell wants to try to court Rita Ora to come over to this show as a judge.
While some of the press is making it seem like Simon is full-on “poaching” the BBC rival by potentially recruiting her, we do not see it exactly the same way. Why is that? It is as simple as the fact that Rita was originally a guest judge on the ITV show years ago, before joining “The Voice UK” permanently. We also understand why Cowell would want her, given that she is super-current, talented, and also delivered good entertainment over the course of this winter.
Per a report from the Daily Star, Cowell considers it to be “fair game” to go after Rita, but we also don’t think this is necessarily some proof that this is going to actually happen. We’ll believe it when we see it. From our understanding, Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini and Mel B could be coming back. Neither one of them was the problem with the past season; Louis Walsh wasn’t great, and we actually think that Cowell is problematic as a judge and producer who tends to wield his power with a big stick.
The new season of “The X Factor” should premiere at some point this fall, and based on the rumors, it certainly seems that Olly Murs is going to be one of the co-hosts for the year’s festivities. We’ll have further news soon.
