‘Downton Abbey’ season 6 spoilers: Is Matthew Goode’s run on series over?

What's up next? -We saw quite a bit of Matthew Goode during the “Downton Abbey” season 5 Christmas Special, where it came across like he could finally be the one to romance Lady Mary and help her move forward into a happy future. However, there was no guarantee that this was going to be the beginnings of something more for the two, or just a one-off that we would never seen again. Ultimately, you have to remember here that this is a series prone to massive time jumps between seasons; they could have gone through an entire relationship and a breakup in between one batch of episodes ending and the other beginning.

Well, we are starting to get a little more information now regarding Goode’s future, and it looks like that you will see him again in season 6. This is according to TVLine, who says that Goode may also find a way to be present again on “The Good Wife,” as well.

We do not imagine that him balancing these two shows will be altogether difficult. “Downton Abbey” is already in the process of filming its new season, and even if Goode doesn’t show up for the rest of this season on “The Good Wife”, production will be starting on a hopeful seventh season around the time that the ITV series is winding down. Therefore, it seems feasible that he can have his fancy political-and-period-drama cake and eat it, too.
