‘Finding Carter’ season 2, episode 2 preview: New trailer promises breakups, family drama galore

Finding Carter -Tonight, “Finding Carter” returned to MTV with a season premiere that may have torn you up inside, at least to a certain extent. It would be hard for it not to given all of the truth-bombs that the writers managed to drop. We learned that Lori has a biological connection to Carter and Taylor, which creates a very different sort of dynamic between the two girls and Elizabeth. She may fancy herself the better mom and in many ways is, but that is not going to stop Carter from being drawn to the woman who has kidnapped her now on two separate occasions.

This connection is one of many things that is hinted at below in the just-released extended trailer for the rest of season 2, where Carter at one point becomes so confused that she refers to Lori with a word we never imagined we’d be hearing again from her: “Mom.” Pretty crazy stuff. The show is really going to have to work hard to sell this moment to us, and that means probably further telling us about what Elizabeth could do to push Carter away beyond the secret that she previously kept.

Even away from Carter, the relationship between David and Elizabeth is posed to crumble. There could be a separation in play here, infidelity, and other problems that all stem from the lack of honesty or just a seed that Lori planted in her brain during the premiere. There is no proof yet that David is the show’s #1 creeper, but things are not looking so great for him.

Oh, and in the midst of all the kidnapping drama, Carter is going to try to be a normal high schooler again. Good luck with that.
