‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini rumors

Well, should you really be that surprised that Cheryl Fernandez-Virsini is the latest person to be wrapped up in the current / complicated “X Factor” rumor mill? You really shouldn’t be, since it feels more and more like this franchise is going to be a revolving door for this upcoming season.

According to the Daily Mail, the ITV series is at least speaking with potential women candidates to be judges on another season of the show. The artist formerly known as Cheryl Cole has not confirmed her return to the series, but to us, it’s hard to really imagine her departing in the same way that Louis Walsh is. She is popular with longtime fans, and she has the history of working with Simon. Much of their past conflict makes their present all the more interesting.

Ultimately, this could just be “The X Factor” covering all of their bases, or it could be speculation or testing women for another role on the show. We would assume that Mel B will be back given that she was largely popular on the show as well, but who knows? This show seems to be throwing darts at a board right now, mostly out of annoyance that they are losing to “Strictly Come Dancing” in the ratings.

Our suggestion is ultimately a simple one: Ignore the ratings battle, and simply make a great show. If you do that, viewers will come in due time. This is a show that doesn’t necessarily need fancy judges or crazy gimmicks as long as they have contestants we all care about.
