‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 6 spoilers: Exec on potential time jump to future stories

Pretty Little Liars -As exciting / confusing as “Pretty Little Liars” was during the finale, there are still some criticisms during the season. What’s one of the biggest ones? It’s simply an issue of time. How long did the show really need to be in high school? It is becoming more and more difficult to believe that some of these people are still present there, and this has to be something the showrunners are aware of.

We do know already that season 6 will feature a graduation, but will the series jump even further in the future beyond that? It is definitely possible, given that you need to find a way to put your main characters together, and that could be difficult if they are all planning to leave for school or other things. While executive producer Oliver Goldstick is remaining coy, he did say the following to TVLine:

“We’ve been talking about [the time jump] for years. This is the same group of writers who have been here since Day 1, so a lot of the ideas that have been bandied about, even two or three years ago, are just now coming to fruition. We’ve had the writing on the wall — literally, on the board of our writers room — as to where these girls are going to end up. But we’re surprising ourselves, too. There are some juicy developments that we didn’t expect, which I think the audience is going to love.”

In the end, let’s just hope that this jump forward proves to be entertaining. We’d actually love see these characters after they are through with college, but moving forward that far in the future is relatively unlikely.
