NBC’s ‘The Voice’ review: DeAnna Johnson, Corey Kent White, Hannah Kirby rock Knockouts
Tonight, there were three more major Knockout Battles that took place on “The Voice,” and we do still wish that the show tried a little harder to incorporate a larger array of performers over the course of an hour. Then again, getting to hear six performances here is better than three an hour for the far-too-drawn-out Battle Rounds.
Below, you can take a look at our take on the performances that were featured during this particular episode of the show, along with the list of winners! We are of course going to be giving you more of this as the night goes on.
Corey Kent White d. Cody Wickline (Team Blake) – This was definitely all sorts of country, and Blake apparently had a hard time choosing the winner. What was interesting here is that there were many similarities between this performance and what we have later. We actually thought Cody was the better singer, but Corey had more of the emotional quality you look for here.
DeAnna Johnson d. Blaze Johnson (Team Adam) – This may be one of the most lopsided battles that we’ve seen almost all season. How can you really even compare the two here? Blaze just chose a song that was ridiculously wrong for him in so many ways. With that, we’re note particularly shocked in the slightest by how this turned out.
Caitlin Caporale d. Hannah Kirby (Team Pharrell) – We really don’t think there was a wrong decision here, mostly because both of these ladies were completely spectacular. Of course, now that we’ve said that, we do have to admit that we would have taken Hannah here, just for originality alone. Luckily, Blake was there to steal her right back to his team after she was briefly eliminated.

Hannah, Hannah, Hannah….love her! She takes a song, makes it her own and pulls you into her world.
