‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ spoilers: Wes Bentley joins Matt Bomer, Lady Gaga

American Horror Story -For this season of “American Horror Story,” Ryan Murphy and company are wasting no time at all getting their cast in order. You already knew about Matt Bomer, Lady Gaga, and Cheyenne Jackson. Now, Wes Bentley is also officially on board.

Murphy confirmed the news himself in a post on Twitter, and this helps to further give the show people are very focused from within the showrunner’s own empire. Bomer had appeared on “Freak Show” and “The Normal Heart,” while Jackson had a guest spot on “Glee” seasons ago. In Bentley, Murphy has an actor who appeared as Edward Mordrake last season, and was also the star of his HBO pilot “Open,” which failed to be ordered to series. This is giving the show a strong male presence from the get-go, given that many past seasons have been very female-heavy from start to finish. While much of the returning cast is not confirmed, Evan Peters spoke at PaleyFest as though he would be coming back. We would imagine that at least a few others will, as well.

The only regulars we strongly doubt will be back are Jessica Lange (who said she was done over the weekend) and also Emma Roberts, who is a star on Murphy’s other new show “Scream Queens.” We are wondering very much about the status of Sarah Paulson, given her role on “American Crime Story: The People v. OJ Simpson.” This may depend on when the two shows film, but it’s clear that she loves the show very much. Even if she’s not a regular, we hope for at least a guest spot like with Gabourey Sidibe, who was limited due to her work on “Empire.”
