‘Saturday Night Live’ preview: Chris Hemsworth acts heroic with Kate McKinnon

SNL -A hero is coming to “Saturday Night Live,” but whether or not Chris Hemsworth is going to save the day is still relatively unclear.

The reigning Sexiest Man Alive is still hosting the show this weekend, and will be doing so with musical guest Zac Brown Band. The “Thor” star is a formidable guy, and the truth with him is that he will most likely stand out no matter where you put him on the show. There’s no real hiding him in a sketch, so you’re best off just letting him be front and center to show off what he can do.

For the most part, the promo below has us reasonably optimistic. While this cannot be seen as a staunch indicator for what he is going to be doing on the series, he certainly both looks and acts game for almost anything in here. Doesn’t that have to be great for something? We certainly think so.

What we’re more worried about is simply if there is some good material written around him. That was the big problem with this past episode. We had a host who seemed to be willing to mock herself, and was pretty good in most of her sketches. She just did not have a whole lot opportunities in which to shine with what she was given.

This is probably going to be the last show for a couple of weeks; we’re at least assuming that since “SNL” likes to do a few shows in April and May.
