‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, episode 13 preview: Amelia fights to save Dr. Herman

The future -Clearly, Shonda Rhimes had some huge plans for Amelia when she decided to make Caterina Scorsone a regular on “Grey’s Anatomy” season 11. In many ways, she has completely blown us away with some of them. We more expected that we would see Amelia around mostly to be a new friend for Meredith, and someone Derek could talk to. In a way, she’d be like their buffer, and occasionally would do a variety of other things at the hospital.

For now, the real purpose for Amelia seems to be more as a hero, and a beacon of hope in an effort to save the life of Dr. Herman. While this is a wonderful endeavor for her, there is still one thing that you do have to wonder at the moment: Will this be what devastates her, and completely destroys her spirit? Could she relapse as a result of depressing if things go south? As she reminds us in the clip below, she is really putting herself on the line here with this case.

As a matter of fact, her attempts to try to perform a medical miracle on Geena Davis’ character are leaving Herman in a general sense of unease. Specifically, she feels extremely uncomfortable with the notion of going through with this, since she wants to live out the final few months of her life without complication. However, at the same time Amelia wants to give her so much more than just a final few months of life. This will be complicated, and there is no easy answer in terms of how all parties should handle it.

We will have more on this “Grey’s Anatomy” episode tomorrow, so be on the lookout for that.
