‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4: See Maleficent take center stage in new poster

Clearly, “Once Upon a Time” is not being shy at all when it comes to their promotion for the second half of the season, and this includes reminding us that Maleficent is a part of the equation. At the bottom of this article, you can see a post from the show’s official Twitter page that confirms this and then some.

Are we thrilled to see this character back within the world of the show again? Beyond a shadow of a doubt, yes. We love Kristin Bauer van Straten, and seeing her get another prominent TV gig following the “True Blood” series finale is a major cause for celebration. However, at the same time we have to admit that we’re still confused by the circumstances of it all, given when we last saw the character and also what her costume looked like at that time. We have to be a little bit convinced that she works now within the show, and that some of the logic makes some sense. We really don’t think it will take that much to have us buy into the move, but we still want to see some clarification there.

Expect at least one episode out of the ones coming up to focus primarily on having Maleficent back in the world. Meanwhile, there will be others that focus more on the other members of the Queens of Darkness, i.e. Ursula and Cruella de Vil. Of the two, we’re slightly more interested to see how Cruella is woven into this world.

“Once Upon a Time” will officially return with new episodes March 1.
