‘Halt and Catch Fire’: AMC puts entire first season online

“Halt and Catch Fire” is a great show, and we have to concern about avoiding superlatives in saying so. This is a show that consistently brought great performances to the table, coupled with stellar writing and just an era that we feel is under-represented on TV these days.

The one unfortunate thing when it comes to this show right now are the ratings. This is a series that has not drawn big numbers so far, and in all honesty, we actually were shocked to see it renewed. We were happy about it, but still shocked. We said a while ago that we were hoping AMC would make it easy for viewers to catch up. That way, they can boost their own ratings for the second season.

While the show is not on Netflix / any streaming service just yet, we are pleased to report that there is another venue to check it out: The network’s official site! So long as you validate a cable subscription, you can go back and watch the entire first season for the next 52 days as of this writing. Of course, we wish it was available to everyone, but we cannot be that shocked that it is not. After all, they have to probably please their cable partners here in some way, and you will have to wait for a while to see the show land somewhere else.

There is no official premiere date yet for “Halt and Catch Fire” season 2, but as soon as there is one, you better believe that we are going to have it for you here. Stay tuned!
