‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 12 preview: John Barrowman’s Malcolm Merlyn takes center stage
We have to admit that next week’s new episode of “Arrow” entitled “Uprising” is one that we’ve probably been looking forward to more than almost any other, and there is one major reason for that: Malcolm Merlyn will be in many ways its star. We will see John Barrowman’s character aplenty in the present, and may even be helping out Team Arrow for a time. However, we are also going to dive into his past, and figure out why exactly a once-mild-mannered guy would eventually end up becoming a very dangerous, ruthless, and deceptive man who tried to blow up a good chunk of Starling City.
We don’t want to spend a whole lot more time hyping this, mostly because we want to go ahead and share the synopsis below:
“Still operating without Oliver (Stephen Amell) and desperate to stop Brick (guest star Vinnie Jones), Team Arrow is forced to consider Malcolm’s (John Barrowman) offer to help shut Brick down as Malcolm has a personal score to settle with the felon. Roy (Colton Haynes) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) point out that the team could use some help to save the innocents of The Glades, but Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards) is adamantly against it. They look to Diggle to make the final decision. Meanwhile, the flashbacks chronicle Malcolm’s descent from kind-hearted father and husband to cold-blooded killer after the murder of his wife.”
While Merlyn may be useful for a time, we do hope that Diggle and company keep it in the back of their head that this guy always has an ulterior motive. Why in the world would you want to trust him for too long?

I thought that Malcolm and Thea would need to join up with team Arrow to beat this guy. He seems impervious to just about everything and I would like to see Malcolm go one to one with him and kill him.
