ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: See Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic in ‘Castle P.I.’ photo

We have a new photographic sneak peek at the next new episode of “Castle,” and it tells us … well, it doesn’t tell us much.

Perhaps the most notable thing about it is something that would seem almost perfectly normal the rest of the time: Seeing Castle and Beckett together while out on a job. The twist is that these two are no longer working together, at least in an official capacity. Nathan Fillion’s character was fired over his connections to the mob, while Stana Katic’s will continue to do her work at the NYPD.

While all of this may be true, that does not mean that Castle will be particularly well-behaved while away from the force. Instead, it is an opportunity for him to infiltrate cases as a private eye. One of the potentially fun aspects of this is that there is no longer some particular code governing Rick or his actions. He’s now free to do almost anything that he wants / needs in order to solve the case, and that could mean one thing for the police: Trouble. Beckett could spend so much time trying to keep her husband from causing trouble that her own abilities may be put to the test.

More than anything, expect some fun to come out of this. Before we get to the two-partner later this year featuring Dr. Kelly Nieman’s return, the next two episodes should bring you that “Castle” laugh factor you have been hoping for.
