‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4, episode 12 spoilers: Does Maleficent mean Aurora, Mulan return?
Sunday night’s winter finale of “Once Upon a Time” had one shocker after another, but one of the biggest ones is rather simple: Seeing the three villains in Maleficent, Ursula, and Cruella de Vil all find a way to be introduced effectively. Based on that scene with Ursula and Rumpelstiltskin at the end of the episode, appears that he will be working with all of them to take over Storybrooke.
So with the return of Kristin Bauer van Straten’s character in particular, what could this mean for some other characters? Well, we know for sure that there are quite a few stories ahead for Aurora. Show co-creator Edward Kitsis said the following to Entertainment Weekly, and he explained that while we will see more of Sarah Bolger, the status of Jamie Chung’s Mulan is still unknown:
“We are definitely going to dive into Maleficent story. We will see Aurora. Mulan we love. We love Jamie Chung. We absolutely have hopes to bring Mulan back. Her story is in the laboratory right now. But she’s a great character and we’d love to see her back.”
We are certainly bummed out about the lack of Mulan at the moment, mostly because she was established as the only GLBT character in the show’s universe. Right when Mulan was about to tell Aurora that she loved her, she found out that Aurora was pregnant. This more or less meant the end of the road for her hopes here, but maybe there could be something great coming down the road?
