‘The Amazing Race 25’ episode 11 review: A twist shocks the final four

Amazing Race -Tonight’s new episode of “The Amazing Race” was definitely crazy. Not only was there some bad race and also some bad luck, but we had a twist that the show has never done before.

For the first time in the history of the show, there are four teams entering the final leg; however, there will still be an elimination halfway through this one, which means that at least another team will not get to cross the finish line. We’re somewhat lukewarm on this twist for now; there’s no real punishment for finishing last, and we really liked the finale format the way that it was.

With that being said, don’t fans of Amy & Maiya have to feel pretty good right now? They would have been doomed otherwise, since they had some navigation problems early, and then a really tough Roadblock that caused Amy to nearly pass out at the pit stop due to dehydration. We don’t think that Roadblock was particular fair to women, though it did seem that there ways to get around it. Had she figured out how to properly deliver the packages right away, she may have been able to avoid last place.

The big surprise of the leg was Brooke & Robbie. For the first time, they really fired on all cylinders. They completed the Detour easily, and then followed directions properly at the Roadblock. This to us showed that in the right circumstances, they can do well; we just don’t know how well they will fare at a mental challenge, or something that could easily frustrate them.

While we were slightly shocked by the twist, this was still a solid episode of the show, and we do really like all of the remaining teams! The wrestlers may be cocky, but they are still fun. Grade: B.
