NBC’s ‘The Voice’ review: Anita Antoinette, Reagan James, Ryan Sill, Jean Kelley close Knockouts

The Voice -Due to the Midterm Elections happening cross the board on Tuesday night, today marks the end for the Knockout Rounds on “The Voice” … and we’re actually going to miss them! There was a ton of creativity in here, and some good performances to boot. There were only a few times where we actually rolled our eyes.

Some of these performers unfortunately didn’t get a whole lot of time to shine due to time limitations, but mostly, a good percentage of the singers had a chance to shine.

Taylor Brashears defeats Allison Bray (Team Blake) – A fairly-close battle, but we just felt like Bray bit off a little more than she could choose with the “Sin Wagon” performance. It also helped that Taylor gave a great take on a wonderful song in “Landslide.”

Ryan Sill defeats Beth Spangler (Team Gwen) – The biggest surprise to us is that Beth chose a JoJo song to perform. When was the last time anyone thought of JoJo? Neither performance was perfect, but Ryan definitely has the voice. He just needs to perform a little bit better.

Jean Kelley defeats Menlik Zergabachew (Team Pharrell) – Two very good song choices on here. Menlik went home despite a great take on Bob Marley! It’s just too bad that Jean did not have a dancer out there for her “Chandelier.”

Chris Jamison defeats Blessing Offor (Team Adam) – This was ultimately a case of artistry. Chris did something more with his “Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” than Blessing did with his choice, but he wasn’t exactly bad.

Matt McAndrew defeats Rebekah Samarin (Team Adam) – We saw almost nothing of this face-off, other than hearing some of Matt’s “Drops of Jupiter.”

Reagan James defeats Grant Ganzer (Team Blake) – We didn’t love Reagan’s song choice, but she has the stage presence to be a big force in the competition. Grant’s performance was just a little too difficult with the falsetto. “Apologize” is a tough song.

Anita Antoinette defeats Craig Wayne Boyd (Team Blake) – “Blake Shelton is back in the Craig Wayne Boyd business.” This may be the best quote from Carson Daly ever when Blake got his former team member back, who absolutely killed it tonight.
