‘Hell on Wheels’ season 4, episode 11: Titles for ‘Bleeding Kansas’ and beyond

What's next? -You’ve most likely been waiting for some further “Hell on Wheels” scoop for some time, and while what we have today may not be that substantial in terms of plot, you can still try to infer quite a bit from it.

After all, aren’t the best episode titles the ones that really give you a thematic sense of what is coming? That is why we despise the titles that go for a cutesy theme, are just chapter numbers, or are just time period a la “24” (even if it makes sense for that show).

AMC has announced the titles for the final three episodes of season 4, and we’ve got them for you below with some analysis.

4×11 “Bleeding Kansas” (airing November 8) – An interesting title here, since history buffs know that this is a reference to a series of conflicts that occurred over slavery mostly before the start of the Civil War. Given that this is in the past, we’re interested to see how this applies to the present.

4×12, “Thirteen Steps” (airing November 15) – This is a little harder of a title to read, and with that, it’s hard to understand the meaning without further information.

4×13, “Further West” (airing November 22) – The meaning here seems pretty easy to decipher: Progression on the railroad is going rather nicely! The end of the show seemingly would be once it is complete, and every episode (at least theoretically, we’re not counting track here) is another step closer to that goal.
