‘Arrow’ season 3, episode 3 podcast: On ‘Corto Maltese,’ ARGUS, Felicity’s ‘friends’ with Jessa
We’re down another episode on “Arrow,” and thanks to that, we have for you right now another edition of our official podcast!
With that being said, we cannot exactly sit here and say that “Corto Maltese” was a complete winner by any stretch of the imagination. There were some successful things that the series did bring to the table here when it comes to some of the stories, but there were also a few that left something to be desired. For example, we’re still trying to figure out just how we feel about the state of things with ARGUS, and how we spent so much time with an organization that we already knew was capable of some pretty bad stuff. After all, these are the same people who recently decided that trying to nuke Starling City was a good move in order to stop Slade Wilson and his mirakuru army.
As for some elements of the story that we liked, they included the following:
- Laurel trying, and failing at first, when it comes to being a crime-fighter in her own right.
- Felicity getting some chances to shine on her own, and with her own assistant offering to get her coffee for a change.
- Diggle kicking butt and taking names.
- John Barrowman and his glorious presence.
- The cliffhanger at the end, which means the return of Nyssa al Ghul to start to stir things up yet again.
