‘The X Factor’ UK spoilers: What Paul Akister, Stevi Ritchie, Lola Saunders, more are singing

The judges -What’s going to happen on this weekend’s new episode of “The X Factor” UK? Some details are still at the moment fairly sketchy, but we can at least tell you now what all of the singers this weekend will be performing.

The theme here appears to be either some sort of Guilty Pleasure or possible 1980s theme, mostly because everyone seems to be singing some rather-campy tracks from the past. Whatever happened to making some of these people actually sound current? It’s not going to happen here.

Anyway, here’s our quick take on what some of the remaining artists will be performing.

Paul Akister, “If You Don’t Know Me by Now” – We love the song. One of the better choices of the evening.

Jake Quickenden, “Total Eclipse of the Heart” – Jake’s a cool dude, but his voice probably can’t handle this. Not a good choice.

Stevi Ritchie, “Never Gonna Give You Up” – Is Stevi going to Rick-roll the entire audience? We’re not sure it’s a good choice, but we will be laughing and dancing along if he does the Rick Astley dance from the music video.

Jack Walton, “Straight Up” – Good pandering to Simon Cowell, given his love for Paula Abdul. Also, a good song to flip around.

Andrea Faustini, “One Moment in Time” – Andrea’s our pick to win right now based on the latest rankings, but we’re going to be pretty tired of him if he does ballads all season.

Lauren Platt, “What a Feeling” – It’s the “Flashdance” song! A weird choice for the youngest singer in the competition, but she will probably hit most of the notes.

Chloe Jasmine, “Fame” – Somehow, this could really work, since we could see an altered version of the song working into her stage persona.

Stephanie Nala, “Call Me” – Not an interesting choice for someone who needs to fight her way to the next round. Expect tearful package before she sings.

Lola Saunders, “Imagine” – One of the best songs ever written, but Lola needs to connect to the lyrics more than just sing it well. This is an extremely hard one to nail.

Only the Young, “Come on Eileen” – Admittedly, we’re not aware of this song. This happens occasionally as a North American viewer to a British TV show.

Stereo Kicks, “Boys of Summer” – We could actually see this working well, if all of the eight guys have something to do with it.

Jay James, “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” – We feel mostly confident in Jay, who has already proven that he can do something upbeat.

Fleur East, “It’s a Shame” – Simon is going for some lesser-known tracks for his Overs, which may be a wise move versus the more mundane covers elsewhere.

Ben Haenow, “Jealous Guy” – We really like the version of this song done by John Lennon, so we’re hoping for more of that than Donny Hathway.
