‘The Mentalist’ season 7 spoilers: ‘The Good Wife’ actor signs on for important role

The latest -There are not many opportunities right now to share news on “The Mentalist,” and it is pretty easy to realize why. After all, there is no premiere date yet! We’re basically left sitting around and waiting, but at least today, we are waiting with the knowledge of some further stories that lies ahead.

According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly, frequent “The Good Wife” guest star Dylan Baker has been booked for a guest-starring role on the seventh and final season (read more about that here). Specifically, he will play Special Agent Bill Peterson, who is a DEA agent who has ties to Rockmond Dunbar’s character of Abbott. Specifically, he was his boss back when the two worked together.

What makes him interesting with this show? Basically, he knows everything when it comes to Abbott, including some of his past mistakes and whatever secrets he may be hiding. This is troublesome for Patrick Jane’s new boss, and he may use this in order to influence them when the FBI gets on board for a big case: Trying to understand the death of one of the agents under Peterson’s watch.

We are glad to see that the show is going to be getting some more big guest stars in the episodes ahead, but the one thing that we are a little curious about right now is whether or not there will be enough focus on Jane and Lisbon. At the moment, this is the relationship that we care about the most with this show.
