‘NCIS’ season 12, episode 3 preview: The David McCallum flashback episode
Are you looking forward to the road ahead on “NCIS“? Tonight’s episode was for the most part sad due to some of the story being told with Vance, but for next week’s installment “So It Goes,” the show may be taking a different approach in focusing its attention elsewhere: Ducky.
This is the long-awaited flashback episode, where you will learn much more about the character’s history, and how a friendship in his past could seriously impact NCIS and the future. Just take a look at the official synopsis below:
“When an NCIS case reveals a connection to Ducky’s estranged childhood best friend, he and Special Agent Bishop travel to London for interviews with family and co-workers of his friend. While there, Ducky finds himself reminiscing about the choices he made in his past and the subsequent impact they had on his adult life.”
The one relief that you can have going into this episode is that Vance is not going to be suffering from any sort of serious health concerns. He is going to be okay, which means that we can focus a little more on everything else that is going on. We anticipate him being back at NCIS Headquarters by the time the next episode rolls around, mostly because there is no set time for when each episode has to take place. It’s not like “24” or anything.
In the end, our real hope for this episode in particular is just that we end up caring for Ducky even more than we do right now.

I’m looking forward to this as its been yonks since we last heard anything about Duckys past. The fellow playing him looks great as young ducky.
