‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: Meet mom to Sarah Drew’s April

What's next? -Just in case you have been curious to have the rest of the Kepner family revealed on “Grey’s Anatomy,” we now have some good news when it comes to April: You will be meeting her mom soon enough!

According to a new report coming in now from TVLine, “The Big C” alum Connie Ray is set to play Karen. She will pay a visit to her daughter, now expecting her first child with Jackson, in an episode that will air on ABC this November.

As the site notes, this is technically a recasted part, given that we first sort-of met the character of April’s mom during the tenth season at April’s attempted wedding to Matthew. The only twist there was that she did not have any real speaking lines, and is not a character that anyone is going to necessarily remember by any means.

The new season of “Grey’s Anatomy” is set to premiere on ABC come Thursday night, and that means that you really do have to start feeling some of that anticipation now. The time of waiting is just about over! It is unclear just how large of a role we are going to see April have in the early going, though, if for no other reason than that most of the stories at first are going to revolve a little bit more around Meredith, and the decisions that these two are going to make now that their lives are somewhat at a crossroads. Stay tuned for more on that.
