‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Scott Michael Foster on playing Kristoff

Elsa and Sven -Thanks to the “Frozen” storyline, there is no doubting that “Once Upon a Time” season 4 is clearly going in a different direction than anything that we’ve seen on the show in the past.

But just what sort of pressure is on some of these actors to be fantastic in their roles? We wonder that mostly due to the pressure that goes along with playing someone so iconic. Millions of children and adult love these people, and are going to be upset if they are changed too much. Meanwhile, they will also be equally upset if they are not changed at all.

For Scott Michael Foster, he seems to have the best possible philosophy playing Kristoff: He is just trying to do the best he can to play the character true to his own vision. He seems to be aware that the two worlds are inherently separate, and he’s not just trying to be Movie Kristoff 2.0. Just take a look at his new comments, per E! News:

“I would say that I definitely put a little bit of my own take on it because the writing is different … It’s not the original Frozen story. It’s just different. I brought what I thought was right to it and I don’t know if it’s exactly like the original character. I would say that I definitely bring a little something else to it. I hope people enjoy it.”

We’re not too concerned about Foster’s performance, since he was obviously cast for a reason. Our bigger worry is that the show will struggle to balance bringing in this “Frozen” story with also trying to implement the beloved characters that so many know and love already. That is a difficult balance for almost any show to try and maintain, let alone one that is this popular.
