‘Masters of Sex’ season 2, episode 5 preview: Another change of scenery

If there is one thing that we are learning right now about “Masters of Sex,” it’s that Dr. William Masters is getting very accustomed to having to find a new place to set up shop. Unfortunately, that’s not a great thing for his study.

So while being able to celebrate getting a chance to work with Johnson again is great, there are still so many problems that the two have to face. For one, there is the issue of them working in a black hospital well before America was fully integrated.

“Masters breaks new ground by continuing his study as the only white physician in a black hospital but at the cost of his gynecology practice. Meanwhile, Libby is confronted by Robert over her poor treatment of his sister Coral; Betty reunites with her former lover; and Johnson struggles to right her relationship with DePaul, who is now aware of her ongoing affair with Masters.”

Ultimately, we see it as there being two separate struggles going on with the show right now. there is the issue of whether or not Virginia and Bill can keep their affair quiet enough to continue being together, and if they actually make further progress on the study without additional stumbles. Both of these goals are going to be difficult for them to ultimately achieve, and history proves that they only have a 50% success rate at it. Let’s just hope that this long, complicated journey is worth it.
