ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 7 spoilers: ‘The Wire’ alum to help Stana Katic’s Beckett
Who doesn’t love “The Wire”? Well, mostly probably still haven’t seen it, but everyone who has considers it to be one of the finest things ever created. So whenever one of the actors from that show finds a new gig, it’s easy to be excited.
So with this in mind, we’re excited for Ryan Sands. According to TVLine, Sands, known best for playing Officer Lloyd “Truck” Garrick on the HBO show, has booked a part on the season 7 premiere of “Castle.” This is the sort of role he should be very familiar with by now, given that his Tagger is a police sergeant in the Hamptons who ends up helping Stana Katic’s Beckett with a “very” important mission. What do you want to bet that this mission involves saving her almost-husband Rick (Nathan Fillion) from certain death?
This is the first major casting that “Castle” has confirmed for the September 29 premiere, but there are still a few things that we know about the episode per some past reports: It’ll most likely be a two-parter, there are more roles still to be cast, and one of the goals here is going to be trying to expand the mythology of the show a little now that Senator Bracken is gone. This should also be a great new test for David Amann, being that this is the first episode that he will have written since his promotion to showrunner.
At the end of the day, we’re still saying that there is no reason to worry about Rick, or his relationship with Kate. This is more about the crazy ride, and some of the surprises along the way (hopefully there are many).
