‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Filming officially begins; all we know so far
“Arrow” fans, there is no longer a reason to wait. The show’s upcoming third season is vastly approaching, and today marks one more official stepping stone from now until then: The beginning of production.
Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, and the rest of the cast are in Vancouver hard at work again on being the best heroes they can be … and also the best show possible. It’s already by our estimation one of the best superhero shows ever created, and the strongest thing on The CW.
We did not want to craft an entire article about this announcement, though, instead, why not share a few of the preliminary details right now concerning what lies ahead? This is a basic summary of some of what has been released over the past several months.
- John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn) is a series regular, and that has been known for a rather long time. The Dark Archer is being set up like the Joker in that he is the inevitable villain, so we don’t see him leaving anytime soon.
- Oliver will get a new teacher while in his flashbacks set in Hong Kong, and his wife just happens to be the alter ego of the DC character Katana. It is not clear just yet what her connection to the present in Starling City is, but hopefully that will become a little clearer over time.
- So far, the biggest casting is of Brandon Routh as the man otherwise known as The Atom, a hero who can change the matter of himself and those around him. On a personal level, he may also be a love interest for Felicity Smoak. Oliver finally has a reason to watch out and get a little jealous.
“Arrow” will actually premiere on The CW Wednesday, October 8, and we will have so much more news before that time. For now, just be sure to head over here to grab some more targeted TV updates from us now via our official newsletter.
