‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Meet a pair of new additions

While there may still be a few secret identities out there for some of the newcomers to “Arrow” season 3 when it comes to Starling City, the same cannot be said for some of the characters that are going to be joining the fold in the Hong Kong region.

We’ve learned this week of a pair of actors who are joining the show, and could therein give us a much broader picture of what Oliver Queen’s super life was like prior to him returning to Starling and becoming a pair of the Arrow Team at the time of the pilot.

First, we introduce you (possibly again) to Devon Aoki. The former “Sin City” actress has, according to Deadline, been brought on in order to play the part of Tatsu Yamashiro, who otherwise goes by the name of “Katana” in DC Comics lore. She is a deadly woman with immense knowledge of martial arts, and should through flashbacks give us a better sense of why Oliver is who he is today.

Now, we turn to the man who will be Oliver’s friend and mentor throughout the episodes ahead (and he also happens to be Katana’s husband). Sources confirm that Karl Yune will play the part of Maseo Yamashiro in a major arc of his own. There is not that much known about the character, but we anticipate that he will have a pretty solid presence on the show, and with Amanda Waller and ARGUS involved in this story, we’re starting to become rather excited about it.
