‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11, ‘Scandal’ season 4 ‘teaser’ released by ABC

The future -ABC is getting the ball rolling on their promotion for their Shonda Rhimes Thursdays, even though there isn’t actually a whole lot to show yet when it comes to footage. As a matter of fact, there is absolutely NOTHING to show right now. Filming has not even started yet on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal,” and yet there is already something out there promoting the two shows.

Do we really blame the network for this? Hardly, since they are very well aware of the fact that these two shows in particular are beloved by viewers, and they are also taking a pretty darn enormous risk when it comes to putting the two shows on at a different time. In an effort to actually make 8:00 p.m. Eastern into something useful, the medical drama will air there, while “Scandal” will receive its time of 9:00. “Grey’s Anatomy” is the show to be more concerned about here, mostly because of the fact that “The Big Bang Theory” is waiting as competition, and it has a reputation of demolishing shows in its path.

The new show at 10:00 is “How to Get Away with Murder,” a buzzy series starring Viola Davis of “The Help” that will be getting the Fall TV Preview treatment from us soon. While Shonda has not necessarily turned everything that has her name on it into a success, she has still one of the best reputations out there as a showrunner. Having an entire night of programming from your studio on the air is proof of that.

There is no official premiere date yet for any show, but we at least expect “Grey’s Anatomy” to return, pending some surprise, on Thursday, September 25.
