Get ready for a major turn when it comes to Ichabod Crane’s story on the second season of “Sleepy Hollow.” You have already met his wife in Katrina many times over, and now, get set to meet someone with connections to his past even before Katia Winter’s character entered the picture for the first time.

According to a TVLine report, Heather Lind from “Turn” (which is the reason for the joke earlier) will guest-star on the Fox show’s second season in the role of Mary Wells. She is an old romantic partner of Ichabod’s who is definitely different from Katrina. She may come across as kind and innocent at first, but there is a layer of darkness underneath that. She can be angry, jealous, and also quick to fight in the right situation.

So what brings her into the world of “Sleepy Hollow”? To us, that is the very exciting mystery here. If she appears only in flashbacks, this is not nearly as interesting. She would have to be some sort of crazy immortal demon to still be alive in the present … and that is precisely what we are hoping for. Shows often balk on the female villains, so we root for those almost any opportunity that we can.

The new season of “Sleepy Hollow” premieres on September 22, but we are going to have some more coverage of the show until then. Just expect an exciting, thrilling season that combines some of what you loved from the first season, and then a little something extra.
