‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5, episode 2 preview: Shay Mitchell, Ashley Benson in ‘Whirly Girl’

Tonight, “Pretty Little Liars” returned for an epic fifth season that featured many surprises, whether it be the news that CeCe Drake killed Detective Wilden, and that many of Alison’s former targets were banding together in order to keep terrible things from happening to the again.

Next week, the story continues in “Whirly Girl,” which in some ways is going to be the show settling back into its groove. The characters will return to Rosewood, and this also means that everyone will really have to adjust again to what their lives should be like now (which is not going to be very easy).

“With the events of New York behind them and back in Rosewood, the Liars are unsettled to still be living under a cloud of secrets. Aria is haunted by the recent past events, while Emily, Hanna and Spencer try to wrap their head around the new normal. Alison, on the other hand, is still sleeping with one eye open as she is forced to stay at home with her family – who she doesn’t trust. 

“Meanwhile, Jason’s odd behavior and Kenneth DiLaurentis’ search for Jessica starts to raise eyebrows about her disappearance.”

What Aria is struggling with is clearly killing Shana, but there are some other troubles that are going to come up that really test her in other ways. The promo below doesn’t give much else away … save for maybe just that there are some very hard times ahead for everyone upon their return to Rosewood.
