‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 5, episode 1: Marlene King on Alison, Paige, ‘A,’ and more

Who -Tomorrow night marks the season 5 premiere of “Pretty Little Liars,” but before you get a chance to watch this first episode back, Marlene King has some news for you. Actually, she has a ton of news for you.

The show’s creator on Monday took advantage of the opportunity to do a lengthy AMA on Reddit, and she was pretty open when it comes to the amount of information she shared. There are some potential spoilers in here, though they are all clearly things that she is comfortable giving away:

  • There is still hope for Paige and Emily despite everything that they have been through.
  • There is at least one “significant” death that will be taking place this season.
  • Remember that talk of a Christmas episode? Well, that is finally happening this year.
  • In response to all the questions about the timeline, Marlene made it clear that it is currently the fall of the senior year for some of these characters, and the reason why the show is moving so slowly is because they want it to last for a good while.
  • You will get more information in the premiere on Ali and CeCe’s journeys as Red Coat. You are also going to find out in the premiere who killed Detective Wilden.
  • Marlene says that the Paige / Alison storyline coming up this summer is “real,” “emotional,” and one of her favorites of the entire season since it touches on bullying and many other subjects from their past.
  • When it comes to the identity of “A,” at least one character is going to figure it out, and drop a big clue to the audience.

Just in case all of this great information is not quite enough for you, we suggest heading over to the link here! That is where you can see a sneak peek from the premiere. Also, you can sign up to get further TV updates via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
