‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11: Are the writers already back at work?

The latest -There are few other TV shows out there that have the time commitment of “Grey’s Anatomy.” Not only are you hired to do 24 episodes (the most that any drama series has in primetime, tied with many other shows), but there are some heavy serialized elements in these episodes. That means more time for the writers to get everything together, and more time spent ensuring that the actors get everything right.

Want some more proof on how hard the staff is working right now? Well, let’s just say that the team here has been back at work for some time getting story ideas and eventually scripts together. You start with more big-picture stuff, but this eventually transitions over to individual episodes.

“Grey’s Anatomy” clearly has many challenges already when it comes to its new season. They have to figure out how in the world they will have Meredith move on without Cristina, and who could fill that sort of friendship gap in her heart. We personally believe that Amelia is a strong candidate, even though Caterina Scorsone’s return has not been confirmed yet by ABC. (Maybe that will change in the weeks ahead.)

In addition to all of this, you also have April and Jackson expecting a child together, Callie and Arizona looking to make things work yet again, and the current mystery of Owen Hart. He and Cristina were great loves, so can he really put that part of his past behind him and move forward?
