‘NCIS’ season 11, episode 19 preview: Mark Harmon, cast close out ‘Crescent City’

NCIS -Tonight, “NCIS” did a fine job setting up what could someday be a series in New Orleans; we were even pleasantly surprised. There was so much more chemistry right out of the gate than with “NCIS: Red,” and that gives us hope there could be a great series here someday.

For now, though, we have to get through the second part of this episode before we can reach a real conclusion. “Crescent City: Part II” will continue with Gibbs and Pride (the awesome Scott Bakula) continuing to work together in New Orleans to solve a high-profile crime, and there is also still some interesting stuff happening back at the home office. Just take a look at the full synopsis below (if you haven’t seen it already):

“Gibbs and Special Agent Pride chase leads in New Orleans after evidence points to a copycat of the infamous Privileged Killer. Meanwhile, Bishop sends DiNozzo a special souvenir from the Crescent City, as DiNozzo, McGee and the FBI continue to track political connections to the case from D.C., on the conclusion of a two-part episode of NCIS.”

The promo below is even better than the episode we saw tonight, thanks largely to some great music, a singular focus, and more great uses of the setting. Compared to so many of the other generic promos that we’ve seen over the years, this one is a revelation.

While reviews for the most part from fans about the spin-off are so far good, remember that there are still any factors weighing into a decision. For one, CBS has to figure out if the show is better than their other pilots, and thanks to them having more NFL football than in years past, there are not going to be as many opportunities for openings as there once were.
