Jimmy Kimmel recruits Chris, Liam Hemsworth, Tom Hanks for post-Oscars fun

Following the Academy Awards on Sunday night, ABC aired a show that has become an annual tradition for them: The post-show spectacular hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Since so many stars are already out and in the public eye, it’s pretty easy to convince them to come across Hollywood Boulevard to where the show tapes from the Dolby Theatre, the site of the big awards show.

So after the end of the show, Kimmel introduced on his own program a series of new “movie trailers” that were adaptations of popular YouTube clips. This was basically this year’s version of “Movie: The Movie,” or any of the other viral videos he has produced on the Oscar special over the years. The only real difference is that he divided them up this time across the show rather than having it all in one video.

The one that we’re going to focus on here was basically a silly version of “Charlie Bit Me,” which should not be that much of a surprise when you remember that Kimmel loves to put funny kids on his show. The video was a funny little bit that included the likes of Liam and Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep, and more. We feel like this is something that is actually not that crazy of an idea. We imagine, after all, that someday there are going to be people who try to make movies based off of YouTube clips. We also don’t know how Kimmel managed to convince Meryl and her 18 Oscar nominations to do this, but we are so happy he did.
