‘True Blood’ season 7: Alexander Skarsgard will move on with Margot Robbie, ‘Tarzan’

A surprise -As soon as “True Blood” comes to a close this year on HBO, Alexander Skarsgard is going to have an opportunity to move from playing one guy in little clothing to another. You last saw the man as Eric Northman, completely disrobed and dying on the top of a snowy peak, during the season 6 finale; after the conclusion of the show, you are also officially going to see him as the King of the Jungle in Tarzan.

It was confirmed today that Skarsgard will star alongside Margot Robbie (“Pan Am,” for all of you TV-only viewers), Samuel L. Jackson, and Christoph Waltz. This movie will be in theaters on July 1, 2016, and marks one of the first significant opportunities for him to really pick up steam as a big-screen leading man. While he has starred in movies before, few of them have had the sort of box office success as this one could.

While Alex will have to make certain that he is in tip-top shape for the role, right now his attention is elsewhere, finishing what he started on the show that made him into a celebrity in the first place. “True Blood” filming has been taking place since last month, which was only mere weeks after Alex completed an epic journey to Antarctica with Prince Harry and others. Not only is he an adventurous guy, but all of this proves that he is also one who likes to do things that are unexpected. We have to say that after being a vampire for so long, he would probably want to take on a role that would be somewhat more grounded in realism.

While we’re not a film site, we can tell you that this movie will be directed by David Yates, who has a good reputation courtesy of the two last “Harry Potter” movies.
