‘Two and a Half Men’ season 11, episode 13 review: Who got married?

It begins -On Thursday night’s “Two and a Half Men” episode, we saw something that has been hyped for many weeks: The appearance of some comedy icons, including Tim Conway, for an episode all about Marty’s bachelor party.

After the extremely wealthy mogul decided that he was going to propose to Alan’s mother, he also expressed that he wanted Walden of all people to be his best man. That led to a pretty awkward party that took place in the afternoon, and managed to find a way to have it completely fall apart. Why? It shouldn’t be much of a surprise: Alan. Marty said that he didn’t want strippers, and when he brought them anyway, the wedding fell apart in a matter of minutes.

This entire story was mostly on the cheesy side, mostly because it was largely old people cracking jokes about being old. At least the Old Hollywood jokes were something original. What was fairly entertaining was the tail end of this, when the mostly-stupid “Alan and Walden are gay” jokes may have actually had some sort of payoff. In order to convince Marty to go through with the ceremony, the two of them had to make it look like they were going to get married themselves to prove that they were on the same page as him.

This is where the episode truly faltered. Seeing the “wedding” between Alan and Walden, which Marty arranged immediately after he married Evelyn, could have been the best moment of the season for pure comedy. But, for whatever reason, the show ended before we got there. Will it still happen? We have to hope so, since otherwise we are left with a giant missed opportunity. That’s what parts of this episode felt like, given all of the talent that was here. Grade: C+.
