‘Nikita’ season 4, episode 4 preview: Will Nikita actually walk away from the mission?
Thanks to “Nikita” getting a final season of only six episodes, we’re at a point now where we have to ask what feels like a really bizarre question, all things considered: Are you really ready to say goodbye to the show? We’re already at the halfway point of the series’ final push, and if you thought it was intense so far, just wait until you see what is going to be coming next.
Basically, we have to start with the offer that Maggie Q’s character receives that could be very tempting to some: An opportunity to start completely over, and act like none of the operation ever happened. But do you really think that walking away is going to be this simple for the team? If so, we wonder what show you’ve been watching all this time.
The story is of course much more complex than that, and we are actually pretty surprised at how much the synopsis below gives away. Ultimately, it’s even more helpful than the official promo (which is pretty rare):
“Jones (guest star David S. Lee) benches Amanda (Melinda Clake) and takes back the reigns of the operation. He calls Nikita (Maggie Q) and offers her and the entire team complete freedom by wiping away their identities and faking their deaths if they walk away from their mission. The team lands the plane on a secluded Pakistan air strip, but when the local drug czar and his men storm the plane and demand ten million dollars, so Nikita calls Alex (Lyndsy Fonseca) for the money. After Alex pulls diamonds out of a safe deposit box to pay the insurgents, Sam (Devon Sawa) sees an opportunity to recoup his losses and contemplates stealing the diamonds. Meanwhile, Michael (Shane West) comes face-to-face with an old adversary, Ramon (guest star Simon Kassianides), who hits Michael with some hard truths.”
The best thing that we can say about the show’s progress right now is that they do seem to have the pacing pretty right. They’ve figured out a way to ensure that the story is told quick enough to make it through the six episodes, but also slow enough that you allow those individual moments with the characters to shine through.
