‘The Mentalist’ season 6, episode 10 preview: Will Simon Baker’s Jane keep Lisbon around?
At the end of the new episode of “The Mentalist” Sunday night, we learned that Patrick Jane was back in America. The twist? That he was not altogether willing to go along with the idea. He was angry at the realization that the deal that he made in order to return was not met, and he has at least temporarily decided that he would rather just be in detention over actually working on some sort of five-year parole plan with the FBI in return for having his name cleared on a vast array of charges.
But could he still end up working with the bureau anyway? That is what the first details about next week’s “Green Thumb” suggest. Just take a look at the full synopsis:
“The FBI reluctantly enlists Jane’s help to find a missing computer programmer, but he won’t help unless Lisbon is brought on board as well.”
The good news is that the photo above is from this episode, and it certainly looks like Lisbon will in fact be brought on the team. But is she really going to be that happy about the reunion? While it may have been pretty boring up in her time town in the northwest, she enjoyed her life there. She seemed to be lonely, but she was not in danger … and was not being told to basically uproot her entire life almost instantly to support the needs of someone else.
Watching the rest of this story unfold on “The Mentalist” this season is going to be interesting, since there is potential here to tell great stories; but, we really don’t want to see the show go back to a soulless procedural again. After seeing something as great as the past few weeks, it’s going to be hard to go back into old territory again.

Lots more of Jane being clever. That is what I liked about the show anyway. Never was into the RJ story.
