‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: How will Hook and Neal work through their differences?

At its core this season, “Once Upon a Time” has revolved more or less around one simple thing: Trying to save Henry. This is going to be the crux of Sunday’s episode appropriately titled “Save Henry,” but there is an important question that comes after this: How will the ABC series address some of its other loose ends?

If you were to look at a panoramic picture at the stories that are playing out, one of the other important ones, in addition to Charming and Show’s attempts to figure out if he can be saved from the curse of having to stay at Neverland, is what will happen with Emma’s love life. On one side of the coin, she has a guy in Captain Hook who is clearly interested, and who she has also kissed. Then, you also have another guy in Neal who she has been with before, loves deeply, and is the father of Henry. If you were to ask who she cared for the most, that probably would not be a difficult question to answer. But, this isn’t about who she cares for the most.

Luckily, there are still some interesting things on the way when it comes to this story. As executive producer Edward Kitsis notes in a new interview with TVLine, the December 8 episode is the one where there are going to be some major revelations dropped about this story. While this may or may not mean that Emma will make a decision between the two, we will see Neal and Hook realize that there is no point in going at each other to try to win the affection of someone … especially when this said someone may have a number of other priorities that don’t include trying to be with either one of them.
