‘Glee’ season 5 spoilers: Darren Criss’ Blaine, other seniors to ‘remix’ classics for 100th episode

The wait begins -Glee” may not always have the best ideas these days, but we do personally feel like the plan for the 100th episode coming up is somewhat interesting. Rather than just having another episode, or one that more or less leaves the fans out in the cold, the show has decided instead to create an episode that really gives you an opportunity to be involved in the music, and the ten (!) songs that are covered over the course of the episode.

The list is a pretty massive one that you can see over at the show’s official Facebook page; of the tracks included, there are some that probably don’t need to be done again like “Defining Gravity” or “Don’t Stop Believin’,” mostly because they have already been done more than one on the show in some shape or form. However, others like “Raise Your Glass,” “We Are Young” (which was done before the song was a hit on the radio), “Keep Holding On,” or one of our favorite Santana performances ever in “Valerie” are ones that could be worth looking back at. “Keep Holding On” has an even greater emotional attachment to it now thanks to its usage on “The Glee Project” (a better show than “Glee”?) for all of the sendoffs.

The one thing that may be at first somewhat distressing is that all of the tracks are to be performed by the group of students currently at McKinley High. But, there is a logical reason for it in that the songs will be performed by the seniors as they look back on their time at school, and plan for their future. This may mean that this is the last episode of not just this group at McKinley, but also the school as a regular part of the show. While it is not confirmed yet, we hear that the plan is to shift away from showing most of those stories once graduation is over. (Tough news for Marley, Jake, and company? Probably, but we imagine that they will get there own little send-off and could return for small roles in the future.)
