Thanksgiving Week TV: Are ‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘Revenge’ season 3 new tonight?

What's next? -

For Thanksgiving Week, we’re going to be unveiling a little feature on CarterMatt designed for one simple purpose: To let you know in advance which shows are airing new episodes, and which ones are going to be off this week. This can be a pretty confusing time, especially if you’re away from your TV getting together the yummy ingredients for your turkey dinner.

Luckily, the Sunday before Thanksgiving is not traditionally a holiday that causes just mass hysteria or any other sort of problems. All things considered, it is a pretty easy day to deal with … unless you are a fan of ABC’s typical primetime lineup.

Usually, tonight you would have new episodes of “Once Upon a Time” and “Revenge” packed within your schedule, but tonight, you have the American Music Awards instead. The reasoning for that is just because the awards show gets huge ratings; it’s no slight against the other shows, but this is always the time in which it airs on ABC. We just wonder if the numbers are going to be that big this year, given how little we have heard about the actual show, which has lost some of its prestige seemingly following the death of Dick Clark.

As for everything else, there’s nothing to really worry about. There are still new episodes of everything from “Family Guy” and “Homeland” to CBS’ “The Amazing Race” and the big Red John reveal on “The Mentalist.” The main thing to watch out for there are delays, and there could be some of them depending on what TV market you are living in today (especially those in Nashville, Tennessee, thanks to an NFL game between the Titans and the Oakland Raiders). But compared to some past weeks, tonight should not be anywhere near as bad.

If you want to take a look at what is coming up ahead on “Once Upon a Time” this season, we suggest just heading on over to the link here. We’ll have some more in the way of news soon.
