‘Once Upon a Time’ season 3 spoilers: The midseason finale title and more

“Once Upon a Time” is doing a rather kind thing for all believers this week; not only are we seeing the title for the show’s midseason finale, but we also have to go along with it the name of what will be the first episode back presumably after this lengthy hiatus is over. Both of these names come courtesy of executive producer Adam Horowitz on Twitter, and while one of them feels like it is pretty straightforward, the other has a much more significant air of mystery about it.

Episode 3×11, “Going Home” – This one feels pretty darn obvious, as the story is probably about the return of some of the characters to Storybrooke after spending so long in Neverland. What we are a little more interested in personally is just which characters are going to be the ones “going.” Snow and Charming may be stuck there thanks to the curse put on them by Peter Pan; meanwhile, you also have people like Tinker Bell and Ariel who could use a home in the world, and this little town could be in.

Episode 3×12, “New York City Serenade” – This is the mystery one, especially since Horowitz emphasized that this title is “not what you think” … and what we thought straight out of the gate here was a story possibly about some of the characters going back to where we found Neal in Manhattan at the start of the show’s second season. If this is something different, it really could be anything, and we may not get a better clue on it until the end of the fall run. Remember, we’re probably going to get some sort of crazy cliffhanger to justify the long wait until some new episodes.

We’re still a few episodes away from “Going Home,” so the Neverland plot will at least continue for a little while longer. Now that it has started to find its way, and the sneak peek here gives us a better idea as to what Peter Pan’s motives really are, we aren’t nearly as confused about what to expect from here as we once were.
